Morteza Mehrzadselakjani stands out from the eight other athletes on IR Iran’s sitting volleyball team.

Standing up, Morteza measures 2.46 meters, making him the world’s second-tallest man and the tallest ever athlete competing in the Asian Para Games.

Together with his teammates, Morteza must defeat eight other countries to win the gold in the men’s sitting volleyball event of the 2018 Asian Para Games.

He suffers from acromegaly, a rare condition caused by an excess of growth hormone.

But at the age of 15, he had a serious pelvis fracture from a bicycle accident. The injury caused his right leg to stop growing.
