South Korea, China, Japan to compete in men’s badminton singles WH1 semifinals
The semifinals of the men’s badminton singles WH1 event on Friday will see athletes from China, Japan and South Korea compete for a spot in the finals.
The first semifinal match will pit two South Korea athletes against each other, namely Lee Dong-seop and Choi Jung-man.
Lee reached the semifinals after defeating Thailand’s Jakarin Homhaul in two sets at 21-14 and 21-10.
Meanwhile, Choi secured a place in the semifinals after gaining victory over Hiroshi Maruyama of Japan.
In another semifinal match, China’s Zimo Qu will face Japan’s Osamu Nagashima.
Zimo secured a semifinal spot after beating Vietnam athlete Manh Giang Hoang.
Meanwhile,Nagashima advanced to the semifinals after defeating Muhammad IkhawanRamli from Malaysia 21-14 and 21-16.
The men’s badminton singles WH1 semifinals start at 2 p.m. at Istora Senayan in Jakarta.
