The earthquake that occurred in Donggala and followed by the tsunami in Palu, Central Sulawesi, has again made Indonesia grieve. The Chairman of the Indonesia Asian Para Games Organizing Committee (INAPGOC) expressed the deepest condolences to the victims and residents affected by the natural disaster.

“Prayer from each INAPGOC personnel always accompanies our fellow Indonesians who are affected in Palu and Donggala,” Okto said.

Okto sympathized with the disaster that occurred just a week before the opening of the Asian Para Games III. In a state of grieving, INAPGOC continues to finalize preparations to ensure Indonesia is ready to host.

“Currently INAPGOC is in the final preparation of the Asian Para Games with the spirit of humanity and equality,” said Okto.

In line with Okto, Chairman of the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) Majid Rashed also expressed deep condolences to those affected by the disasters and dealing with the aftermath. Related to the conditions, APC and INAPGOC have agreed to a moment of silence during the Opening Ceremony of the Asian Para Games on 6 October.

“We will hold a minute’s silence during the Asian Para Games Opening Ceremony so that we can offer our respect for the victims and our support to those dealing with the aftermath of the disasters in Indonesia,” said Majid Rashed.
