APC president praises 2018 Asian Para Games

Asian Paralympic Committee president Majid Rashed has praised the 2018 Indonesian Asian Para Games Organizing Committee (INAPGOC) for running the regional, multisport event successfully.

“The 2018 Asian Para Games are incredible. Many new records had been created even before the event started,” Rashed said.

During the one-week event, 15 world records in a number of sports were set.

“The Asian Paralympic Committee is proud of what has been achieved in the 2018 Asian Para Games. INAPGOC is incredible, as it could prepare everything in a short time,” Rashed said.

“The implementation of this event was successful. Nations like Laos and East Timor have also made their records by winning gold medals for the first time throughout their participation in the Asian Para Games,” said the 42-year-old APC president.

Rashed added that the 2018 Asian Para Games should be used make Jakarta a more disability-friendly city.
